About us

Bottle Screen Printers has supported South African businesses with cylindrical screen printing equipment since 2007. From our Aeroton base in Johannesburg, we install, train and service clients nationwide.

Our Johannesburg base and national reach

Bottle Screen Printers operates from Aeroton in Johannesburg, with service and install work reaching clients in Johannesburg South, Midrand, Pretoria, Durban, Cape Town and many other towns across South Africa. That mix matters because a factory in a humid coastal area does not face the same day-to-day issues as a plant in Gauteng, and a small label run in a busy workshop needs a different support approach to a higher-volume production line. We work with that in mind.

Our focus is cylindrical screen-printing machines and the screens that go with them, mainly for bottles, cups and tubes. That means practical equipment, correct setup, and advice that matches the product being printed. We are not here to oversell what a client does not need. We are here to make sure the machine fits the work, the print holds up, and the line keeps moving even when load-shedding, supply delays or a rushed order get in the way.

How the business started in 2007

The company was founded in 2007 with one clear idea: South African printers needed direct access to specialist support for cylindrical printing. At the time, many businesses were trying to make general-purpose equipment do a job it was never properly set up for. That leads to waste, inconsistent print quality and too much downtime.

From the start, the aim has been to give clients a more workable path. We supply equipment, explain the setup, help with screens and keep the process practical from day one. Over the years the work has grown because the same basic need still exists. Businesses want prints that look right, stay durable and can be produced at a sensible pace. Simple really, but not always easy unless the machine, operator and maintenance are all aligned.

  • Equipment matched to the product being printed
  • Setup support for new lines and replacements
  • Training that focuses on real production conditions
  • Repairs and maintenance that reduce avoidable stoppages

What we value in day-to-day work

Our values are practical ones. We value accuracy because cylindrical printing leaves little room for guesswork. We value reliability because a missed delivery can hold up packaging, branding or a full production batch. And we value straight talk, because clients need to know what will work, what will not, and what it will take to keep a line steady.

We also value local understanding. South African businesses work in varied conditions. Some sites run through municipal interruptions and power cuts, some deal with dust or coastal humidity, and some operate with limited floor space or a small team. A good supplier should take those conditions seriously. That means giving advice on cleaning routines, spare parts, screen care and operator habits that suit the site, not just the brochure.

  • Accuracy in setup and colour handling
  • Reliability in support, spares and follow-up
  • Clear guidance for the people using the machine
  • Respect for time, budgets and production pressure

How our team supports your production

Our team covers the full job from first enquiry to after-install support. Thabo Mokoena leads the business as Managing Director, with Naledi Khumalo handling operations, Johan van der Merwe on technical sales, Anele Dlamini doing installations, Farieda Jacobs training production teams, and Sibusiso Nene coordinating service. That structure helps us keep communication tight and avoids clients being bounced from one contact to another.

When a client needs a machine installed, we look at the site layout, power supply, workflow and operator access. If screen making or screen reclaiming is part of the setup, we make sure the process is practical for the people who will use it every week, not just for day one. Training is hands-on and based on the actual items being printed. Clients often tell us that this is what makes the difference, because it reduces trial and error and gets them to usable production faster.

Installation, training and maintenance that fit real sites

A machine only earns its place if it keeps working. That is why our support does not stop at delivery. We assist with site setup, machine installation, operator training, colour setup help, preventive maintenance, breakdown repairs, spares supply and production optimising. Each service is there to solve a common problem that South African printers face in the real world.

For example, a new team may need help getting consistent registration on bottles with a curved surface. Another site may need advice on keeping screens in good condition after long runs, or on how to handle breakdowns when a deadline is close. We work through these issues carefully, because small errors in setup can become expensive later. A half hour spent on the right adjustment often saves a day of rework.

  • Operator training for day-to-day production
  • Preventive maintenance to cut downtime
  • Breakdown repairs and spares supply

Why clients come back to us

Many of our clients come back because they want a supplier who understands the full cycle, from screen making and screen reclaiming to maintenance and support after the first install. They also want equipment that can handle varied production conditions without needing constant babysitting. That is especially important in busy factories where one machine stoppage can affect the whole shift.

We keep our approach direct. If a setup needs adjusting, we say so. If a screen needs remaking, we say so. If a client can improve output by changing the process rather than buying more equipment, we say so. That honesty builds long-term working relationships, and it helps businesses make better use of the machines they already own. In our view, good service is not only about fixing problems, it is about preventing them before they cost time and money.

If you are printing bottles, cups or tubes and want support from a team that knows this work properly, we are ready to help from our Johannesburg base and across South Africa.
